Futurize Brings Together Global Partners to Power the Next Generation of Health Startups Across Africa
Futurize today announced the partner ecosystem supporting the 2026 cohort of its Health Incubator, bringing together a group of global organizations to equip early-stage founders across Africa with the expertise, tools, and networks needed to build and scale impactful healthcare solutions.
The Futurize Health Incubator is a 16-week hybrid program supporting 15–20 early-stage startups founded by university students, researchers, and young innovators across the continent. The program takes founders from early validation through to investor readiness, culminating in a Demo Day and Summit in Nairobi in December 2026.
This year’s cohort will be supported by a carefully curated partner ecosystem spanning three critical pillars of venture development:
Deep Healthcare Expertise and Global Insight
Working with Pfizer through its skills-based volunteering program – Global Health Fellows – Futurize brings world-class healthcare expertise directly into the program. Pfizer colleagues from across the world will engage with founders as advisors, mentors, and expert contributors, supporting teams working on challenges across women’s and maternal health, oncology, infectious diseases, and digital health.
Their involvement helps founders to build solutions grounded in real-world healthcare systems — from clinical validation and regulatory pathways to market access and scaling in complex environments.
“By volunteering their skills, colleagues contribute real‑world expertise that strengthens early‑stage health innovation and helps young founders build solutions that are both practical and impactful,” said Katie Merkel, Sr. Manager, Global Health Investments, Pfizer Inc.
Design, Storytelling, and Digital Capability
In partnership with Canva, founders gain access to the tools and skills needed to communicate their ideas clearly and effectively.
Through dedicated sessions and ongoing support, Canva is helping founders:
Build compelling pitch decks and investor materials
Strengthen their visual storytelling and brand
Develop digital skills that enable them to communicate and scale their solutions to their customers, potential clients and investors
As part of the collaboration, Canva is also working closely with Futurize to bring its platform closer to universities and young founders across Africa, helping unlock new pathways for creativity and income generation.
Investor Readiness and Access to Capital
Through its partnership with Fern Capital, the program strengthens its focus on investment readiness and early-stage capital pathways.
Fern Capital works with founders to:
Refine their investment narrative and financial models
Prepare for conversations with investors
Understand what it takes to raise and deploy capital effectively
Building a Connected Ecosystem for Founders
Together, these partnerships create a holistic support system for founders — combining healthcare expertise, design and communication, and investor readiness into one integrated program.
Rather than operating in silos, the Futurize Health Incubator is designed to bring these elements together, ensuring founders are supported across every stage of building a venture.
Moritz Gripp, Co-Founder of Futurize, said:
“We’ve been very intentional about building an ecosystem around our founders — not just a program. By bringing together world-class partners, we’re giving founders access to the kind of expertise, tools, and networks that are typically fragmented. This is about creating the right environment for ambitious founders to build solutions that can truly scale.”
Futurize has worked with 100+ founders across 30+ universities, supporting the launch of 25+ startups tackling some of the continent’s most pressing healthcare challenges.
Applications for the 2026 Futurize Health Incubator are now open.
